• Photos and short video before discarding soot-damaged items.
• Note time, rooms affected and fire department incident number if you have it.
• Keep communication with your insurer.

Claim

Notify your insurer as your policy requires. A referred contractor can describe technical findings; they do not replace your claim or act as your public adjuster.
